| Wellsite Compression builds rotary screw
compressor packages to meet your needs. Whether
you require a simple, fixed Vi design with
relatively constant operating conditions
or a variable Vi package for a multitude
of varying and complex operating conditions,
we can supply an efficient, reliable and
cost-effective unit built to your specifications.

Wellsite Compressor rotary screw packages
feature;
- Lower Initial Costs
- The up-front cost of a rotary screw compressor
is considerably lower than that of a reciprocating
type unit with the same capabilities. The
compressor ends are complete with no need
for special cylinder sizing or pulsation
vessels, and take up far less space in the
overall package design. Package design also
requires less inteconnecting piping, which
lowers the assembly time and cost.
- Lower Installation Cost
- Packages require only two connection points,
a suction tap and a discharge tap. Using
quality, steel-reinforced hoses or hard piping,
we can be up and running in just a matter
of minutes with minimal cost. Site requirements
are just as simple-we need a level, flat
surface large enough for the unit to set
on. Costly gravel or concrete pads are not
required and all of our skid-type units can
be installed using a tail-roller truck and/or
trailer instead of expensive cranes.
- Lower Operating Cost
- With few moving parts and long life bearings,
the rotary screw compressor provides a lower
operating cost than the reciprocating and
rotary vane compressors. With proper preventive
maintenance, the rotary screw compressor
can provide years of trouble-free service.
Our unique oil separator design provides
minimal oil loss that is measured in "parts
per million" instead of the "gallon
per day" that reciprocating and rotary
vane compressors can consume and deposit
into your production equipment and sales
line. The rotary screw compressor requires
very little maintenance. This includes changing
the oil filters regularly, monitoring the
oil for contaminants and breakdown, and changing
the oil when necessary. When repairs are
required, they can be performed without the
need for expensive specialty tools or extensive
training.
- Increased Flexibility
- Rotary screw compressors are proven to be
the most cost efficient alternative for low
pressure and wellhead compression applications.
The ability to load the available horsepower
throughout a wide range of operating conditions
gives the rotary screw a distinct advantage
over all other types of compressors. This
flexibility makes it an excellent choice
for producers and rental fleet operators.
- Increased Mobility
- With lower installation costs, changeouts
are very inexpensive and allow producers
and rental fleet operators the benefit of
being able to better match the compressor
package to the application when operating
conditions have changed. Our trailer-mounted units, with an optional gas metering system, provide
an excellent mobile test package for the
producer needing to evaluate an entire field
or produce various wells on an intermittent
basis.
- Fixed Vi Compressors
- When sizing for an application with operating
conditions that will remain relatively constant,
a fixed Vi compressor is an economical solution
that provides excellent service and long
life. And with low, medium, and high built-in
Vi settings available, we can build a unit
to fit any condition you may have from vacuum
inlets of 15" hg to discharge pressures
of 150 psig. When properly applied , the
fixed Vi compressor can be matched with a
driver that efficiently loads the available
horsepower within its operating range. Long-term
applications in sandstone, coal, landfill,
and shale gas are excellent candidates for
the fixed Vi compressor.
- Variable Vi Compressors
- When your operating conditions can vary, fixed Vi compressors can become inefficient
and potentially ineffective. This can cause
not only higher operating cost and inefficiencies,
but equipment change outs that could cause
interruptions in production. Frick compressors
employ their state-of-the-art variable volume
ratio technology, known as VVR. VVR technology
centers around a movable slide stop that
provides adjustment of the volume ratios
of gas compressed. The movement of this slide
stop can be controlled manually by the user
or automatically through the use of pneumatics
or a micro-processors. These adjustments
are made with the unit running without interruption
in gas production. The Frick compressors
also incorporate a stepless capacity control
of gas volume. This feature provides the
operator the ability to adjust the output
volume of the compressor from 100% down to
10% without interruption in gas flow. This
feature, which provides for maximized efficiency
of power consumption, can also be controlled manually or automatically.
